Sri Lanka police seizes illegal high-tech underground scanner

Sri Lanka police Special Task Force (STF) arrested two people in Colombo today for the possession of a high-tech underground scanner and seized the scanner.

The Special Task Force arrested the suspects opposite the Fort Railway Station in Colombo following a tip off.

According to the police, legal permission is required to use such equipment in the country. The US-made scanner is capable of surveying 100 feet underground.

The police suspect the equipment may have been used for treasure hunting.

The Special Task Force is conducting further investigations into the incident.a
